Sydney is currently living on the sunny Gold Coast in Australia.
Sydney has a Bachelor’s Degree double majoring in Environmental Studies and Geography with a concentration in Sustainability and the Environment from the University of Victoria in Canada. She is a climate policy researcher and environmental consultant.
During her undergraduate coursework at the University of Victoria in Canada and international exchange at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, Australia, and Utrecht University, The Netherlands her studies encompassed environmental sciences, urban planning, climate change adaptation and resilience, Indigenous studies, and renewables forms of energy.
In 2019, Sydney began working for the Federal Government of Canada where she helped create a marine emission reductions program and database, as well as draft policies and regulations to reduce emissions from transportation.
At the moment, Sydney is building an environmental consultancy called Flora Environmental. The aim of her business is to help organizations, governments, and industries understand and reduce their emissions on the path to net-zero emissions.
