About Barney

Barney is a Mechanical Engineer, with a First Class Honours Degree from the University of NSW, in Sydney, Australia.

Barney has worked in the renewable energy sector since 2010, and has worked with many utility-scale technologies, including solar photovoltaic, solar thermal, wind, and anaerobic digestion.

As an engineer, he has worked in project development, tendering, construction, and commissioning. He has worked for an OEM, an engineering consultancy, two private equity funds, and a developer.

His work has encompassed both early commercialisation technologies as well as fully bankable technologies, both at the utility scale as well as commercial and industrial scale.

His upbringing in rural Australia gave him a first hand experience of poor landscape and environmental management, in which inappropriate farming methods have caused irreversible environmental damage.

Barney is a passionate believer in how new technologies can bring about tangible improvements in human and environmental health.
