California state government has set some ambitious goals for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the next 50 years. The Bay Area Council has stepped forward to help Bay Area businesses begin tracking and eventually reducing their GHG emissions with the Bay Area Initiative to Reduce Emissions (Bay AIRE). The project provides technical resources and a benchmarking and measurement tool to help local businesses self-report their GHG emissions and reduce them with energy efficiency and other strategies. The Bay AIRE effort is part of Flex Your Power Bay Area, a regional effort to ensure cost savings and electrical reliability through aggregated, voluntary commitments to energy efficiency and demand response.
