Job Description

Senior Analyst, Corporate Environmental Assessments for The Walt Disney Company Department Overview: The Environmental Affairs department, as part of the Corporate Responsibility division, is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive and integrated set of global strategies supporting The Walt Disney Company’s environmentally responsible practices and reputation. This includes providing overall vision and direction to the Company’s environmental efforts. Furthermore, Disney’s Environmental Affairs insures that environmental stewardship is integrated into the operating practices and decision filters of all TWDC businesses. Based in Glendale, CA the Corporate Environmental Assessments group situated within the Environmental Affairs department is responsible for supporting the company’s focus on its environmental impact goals. This group leads the ongoing development of Disney’s environmental footprint assessment and works collaboratively with Disney business units to create metrics and processes that will enable the company to achieve aggressive goals to reduce its operational impact on the environment. Responsibilities: The incumbent of the Senior Analyst position reports to the Director of the Corporate Environmental Assessments group and supports the mission of the group. The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to work on a variety of environmental projects spanning Disney’s diverse global operations. Duties include: • Support development of corporate emissions, energy, and waste inventories • Development of scorecard of metrics to accurately report Disney’s environmental footprint and reduction goals to stakeholders • Develop detailed technical analyses of emissions and waste reduction initiatives • Analysis of energy conservation and renewable energy projects • Measurement of benefits associated with various energy conservation measures • Research emerging technology proposals in collaboration with Disney’s Sustainability R&D group. • Analyze impact of carbon and energy regulations on Disney operations and environmental strategy • Travel to Disney sites and/or conferences as needed • Collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to collect information, perform calculations, and effectively disseminate ideas throughout the organization

Required Qualifications

• Undergraduate or higher-level degree(s) in engineering, business administration, or environmental science
• 5 years technical experience in emissions and energy issues
• Experience in energy efficiency, renewable energy technologies
• Knowledge of computer database applications to develop, maintain, sort and report energy and environmental performance metrics
• Strong computer skills – especially demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheets and databases structures
• Project Management experience
• Able to work in a fast-paced work environment; ability to multi-task

Desired Qualifications

• Working experience and/or education in environmental performance indicator (i.e., greenhouse gases, other emissions, solid waste) tracking and reporting • Experience with utilities, refiners, or auto manufacturers on emission issues • Familiarity with emissions and energy rules and regulations, domestically and internationally • Knowledge of emission protocols such as WRI’s Greenhouse Gas Protocol or the California Climate Action Registry Protocol • Environmental and energy policy and guideline development
