Sonia Medina is the U.S. Country Manager at EcoSecurities.

Sonia joined EcoSecurities in 2003, she is now US Country Director based out of the New York office. She has considerable experience in the International and American greenhouse gas mitigation market, particularly in relation to carbon project development, capacity building and carbon transactions. Sonia’s previous role at EcoSecurities was Associate Director and Head of Origination responsible for the Group's global project origination efforts. In this role, she managed 20 local teams on five continents in identifying, assessing and contracting greenhouse gas emission reduction projects. In earlier roles, she undertook carbon project development for CDM projects in numerous countries and advised private and public organizations about the potential opportunities and liabilities related to climate change regulation. Sonia has worked with climate change and energy issues at the United Nations Environmental Program in Paris. She has a Masters in Environmental Change and Management from Oxford University.
